Workshop Overview

This training workshop introduces the application of long read sequencing (LRS) technologies for validating engineered alleles. Participants will explore the advantages of LRS over traditional methods such as Sanger sequencing, and learn how to select the appropriate sequencing modality based on allele type and experimental materials.

The session will cover current experimental workflows, protocols for generating long read sequencing data, and practical guidance on available software, and data analysis and interpretation. Participants will gain experience working with real datasets, including alignment files (.bam) from both in-house and outsourced sequencing projects.

This extended workshop builds on the session presented at TT2025, with additional exercises and deeper analysis practice. Attendance to the previous workshop will not be necessary to benefit from the TT2026 session. Number of delegates will be limited to 30 to facilitate interactions.
